Brif Intro
PP/EVOH/PP high barrier sheet is a multi-layer composite material consisting of polypropylene (PP) and ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (EVOH) layers. PP as the outer layer provides excellent mechanical properties, heat resistance and chemical resistance, while the middle EVOH layer has extremely high gas barrier properties, which can effectively prevent the penetration of oxygen, carbon dioxide and water vapor, thereby extending the shelf life of the food in the package.
Material structure
PP layer: The polypropylene (PP) of the outer layer has high strength, durability and thermoforming properties, which enables it to adapt to various complex shapes of packaging designs. At the same time, the PP layer is harmless to food safety and meets the standards of food contact materials.

Production process of PP/EVOH/PP high barrier sheet

Co-extrusion raw material preparation:
PP (polypropylene), EVOH (ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer) and other possible additives (such as antioxidants, UV stabilizers, etc.) are prepared in proportion to ensure that the sheet has ideal performance.
Co-extrusion molding:
Different materials are heated and melted separately through multiple extruders of the co-extrusion equipment. After the molten PP and EVOH materials pass through the die head, they are superimposed to form a multi-layer structure. PP is used as the upper and lower layers, while EVOH is used as the middle layer to provide barrier properties.
Cooling and shaping:
The co-extruded sheet is calendered and cooled by the cooling roller to solidify the sheet and ensure that the sheet has uniform thickness and smooth surface.
Cutting and winding:
The cooled sheet is cut or wound according to customer needs to finally form a PP/EVOH/PP sheet product.
