January 2026 – DESU Plastic Materials Co., Ltd. has successfully completed the shipment of 70 tons of PET and PP thermoforming sheet rolls to Mali, marking the official start of cooperation with a new West African packaging manufacturer.

The materials will be used for food-grade thermoforming trays and blister packaging boxes, supporting the customer’s growing demand in food, pharmaceutical, and consumer goods packaging applications.

This shipment represents more than a completed order. It is the result of a structured supplier evaluation, on-site factory audit, and technical validation process, and signals the beginning of a long-term supply partnership.

From Factory Visit to Contract Signing: How the Cooperation Was Established

The customer is a regional packaging manufacturer in Mali, serving local and cross-border brands with thermoformed trays and transparent blister packaging. With increasing order volumes, the customer faced several challenges:

  • Inconsistent sheet quality from previous suppliers
  • Limited capability to source PET and PP thermoforming sheets from one manufacturer
  • Long-term supply instability for export-grade packaging materials

In December 2025, the customer visited DESU’s production facility for an on-site audit, focusing on:

  • Raw material selection and formulation control
  • Thermoforming performance consistency
  • Food-contact compliance and export experience
  • Production capacity and batch stability

After reviewing production lines, quality control processes, and trial samples, the customer confirmed DESU as a qualified supplier and signed a 70-ton initial order for PET and PP sheet rolls.

Product Solution Overview: PET & PP Sheets Designed for Thermoforming Efficiency

PET Thermoforming Sheet Rolls

El Sábanas para mascotas supplied in this project were developed specifically for transparent thermoforming applications, such as blister packs and display-oriented food trays.

Las ventajas clave incluyen:

  • High clarity and low haze for premium packaging appearance
  • Stable thickness tolerance for consistent forming results
  • Wide thermoforming temperature window
  • Good vacuum and pressure forming response
  • Optional rPET content to support sustainability goals

During customer trials, the PET sheets showed excellent corner definition and reduced scrap rates, even under continuous production conditions.

Rollos de lámina de termoformado PP

For food tray applications requiring heat resistance and toughness, DESU supplied PP thermoforming sheets optimized for industrial forming lines.

Key features include:

  • Controlled crystallinity for stable forming behavior
  • Good rigidity and impact resistance
  • Compatibility with sealing and microwave applications
  • Reliable dimensional stability after forming

The PP sheets were successfully integrated into the customer’s existing molds without equipment modification, reducing switching risks.

Procurement Perspective: Why DESU Was Selected as the Supplier

From a procurement decision standpoint, this project demonstrated several clear values:

One Supplier, Multiple Materials

DESU’s ability to supply both PET and PP thermoforming sheets allowed the customer to:

  • Simplify supplier management
  • Reduce cross-material quality risks
  • Improve procurement efficiency

Clear Quality Responsibility and Technical Support

Before mass production, DESU and the customer aligned on:

  • Thermoforming performance benchmarks
  • Batch consistency standards
  • Export packaging and logistics requirements

This clarity helped the customer pass internal technical and financial approval processes smoothly.

Long-Term Supply Capability

Rather than treating this as a one-time purchase, the customer evaluated DESU as a potential long-term supplier for future expansion projects.
The 70-ton order serves as both a production-scale trial and the foundation for continuous supply.

Shipment Execution: Reliable Delivery to Mali

DESU completed production and shipment strictly according to export standards:

  • Moisture-proof and impact-protected roll packaging
  • Palletized loading suitable for long-distance sea freight
  • Clear batch labeling for traceability

The shipment was delivered on schedule, with documentation and container loading completed smoothly, reinforcing confidence for future repeat orders.

Looking Ahead: Building a Long-Term Partnership

This 70-ton shipment of PET and PP thermoforming sheets to Mali represents:

  • DESU’s growing presence in the African packaging materials market
  • Recognition of DESU’s thermoforming-focused product development
  • A strong foundation for future cooperation in higher volumes

Both parties are now exploring:

  • Regular monthly or quarterly supply plans
  • Expanded product specifications
  • Sustainable material solutions including rPET

Conclusion: More Than a Shipment

At DESU, we believe that thermoforming sheets must perform reliably on real production lines, not just meet specifications on paper.

This first shipment to Mali validates our approach as a solution-oriented thermoforming sheet manufacturer, committed to quality, stability, and long-term cooperation.
